The Lander University

2025 Student Academic Symposium

The 2025 Lander Academic Symposium will be held the week of April 21-25 on the campus of Lander University and online. All Lander undergraduate, graduate, and online students are invited to participate.

Step 1: Ask a faculty member to be your sponsor for this project.  Ask them whether your project would fit well at a conference and if your department is already planning to hold a Symposium event.

Step 2:  Write an abstract—a one-paragraph summary of your project.  Proofread carefully and work with your faculty sponsor to perfect your wording, as this info will be published in the conference proceedings. Need inspiration? Check out abstracts from past Symposium Proceedings.

Step 3:  In addition to the abstract, you'll need a 1-3 sentence bio. Proofread both the abstract and the bio very carefully!  They'll be printed in the conference proceedings. (If you have teammates on this project, collect their 1-3 sentence bios, too.)

Step 4:  Once your sponsor has approved your abstract, submit your proposal online.
