Many studies have examined the correlation between pornography use and problematic attitudes or behavior (Malamuth et al., 2012; Russell, 1990). Greater exposure to any type of pornography is associated with negative attitudes towards women and more acceptance of sexual violence towards women (Bryant, 2009; Vega, 2007). However, most studies have found the correlation between pornography use and sexual aggression is dependent on frequency of use and the type of pornography watched. For example, viewing sexually violent pornography is associated with an increased likelihood of sexual aggression (Hald, 2009). However, non-violent pornography has not been consistently correlated with sexual aggression, although it is associated with other concepts (e.g., higher sex drives; Baer et al., 2015). The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between pornography use and sexual aggression. To collect data, a survey was administered to college students and Mechanical Turk workers, who completed items about pornography use and sexual aggression online. Results and implications will be discussed.
