Nursing Education though the Generations

research poster

Taylor Nicole Fendley

This is a research poster to explore how the education of nursing students has changed and stayed the same through three generations of nursing. How clinicals are performed, the rules of what was allowed, and “classes” have all changed dramatically, however not many of the requirements have not changed. Taylor (the presenter) interviewed her mother who is a working nurse and her grandmother who is a retired nurse, as well as reflecting on her own experiences in nursing school to gather her information. This poster will display the information collected from the presenter's current experience of nursing school at Lander University compared to the previous generations of nursing students.

  • Taylor Fendley is a senior at Lander University from Anderson, SC. She is majoring in Nursing. After Graduation she hopes to move back to Anderson to start working as a nurse before returning school to continue her education in the medical field. She hopes to one day work in the pediatric field of nursing as a nurse practitioner.
