Theory of Relativity

Michael Nastro, Jared Pilch

For centuries it was believed that time and mass always held the same value regardless of an outside observer’s perspective. However, Einstein’s ground breaking revelation in physics found this was not the case. In this presentation we will discuss the Lorentz factor, experiments such as the Michaelson-Morley experiment, and paradoxes such as the twin paradox to illustrate how the Theory of Relativity impacts our understanding of the world around us.

  • Michael Nastro is a dual major in mathematics and computer information systems from Mount Pleasant. He is part of both Lander’s Honors College and baseball team.

  • Jared Pilch is a senior mathematics-dual engineering major who has been on the Dean’s List.
