Applications of the Fourier Series

This presentation will begin with the heat equation given the case of a uniform rod with boundary temperatures held constant at zero on both ends. It will then explore a visual representation of the complex fourier series, specifically the recreation of any closed simple curve with a series of epicycles.
Kaleb Lodge graduated from Emerald High School in Greenwood, SC. He is currently a senior mathematics major who intends to pursue a career as an actuary.
