In this poster presentation I will be showing you how Qin Jiushao affected Chinese mathematics and helped the modern math world. He came up with the math behind the Chinese Remainder Theorem and Horner’s method. He also wrote the Mathematical Treatise in Nine Sections, which is a mathematical text covering different aspects of life where different methods can be used in everyday life. Not only was Qin Jiushao interested in mathematics, but he was also heavily involved with the military, and also enjoyed other hobbies such as, astronomy and meteorology.

• Raquel Acco is a junior in the mathematics dual engineer program. She graduated from A. C. Flora high school in 2019 and is also a part of the Lander Women’s Tennis team. In the fall of 2022, she plans to attend Clemson University to pursue her civil engineering degree.
