Down Syndrome is a genetic chromosome 21 disorder that causes developmental and intellectual delays in children and adults. Having Down Syndrome can come with a lot of challenges and feelings of exclusion and difference. Children with Down Syndrome are often looked at as if they cannot do something because they have a disability, but that is far from the truth. This poster compiles research from EBSCO database to bring awareness to value of inclusive sports for children with Down Syndrome. By developing motor skills, cardiovascular health, and social skills, sports improve every aspects of the child’s life. The research shows that adapting sports for those with Down Syndrome offers enormous benefits.
