During their childhood, children will experience many things that will affect their lives forever. Abuse and neglect are two significant characteristics that will forever impact a child’s life. When a child experiences abuse and neglect, this affects their social, emotional, and academic development. This poster will showcase how educators can prevent and act against abuse, neglect, and maltreatment. When children experience abuse and neglect, this will follow them throughout their entire life unless they receive the necessary help that will help them cope and overcome their traumatic past. When a child is in an abusive environment, they will face stress, behavior problems, and academic delays. This poster will give insight into how to help a child at risk. Overall, it is essential to know how to identify abuse and neglect in a child’s life, how to help that child overcome their environment, and how to prevent that from happening in any other child’s life. The goal of educators is to prevent any child from experiencing an abusive and harsh environment in early childhood. Educators have a duty and responsibility to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge, love, and guidance to protect their students and ensure that their needs are met in and outside the classroom.
