The challenge of finding reliable and consistent gym partners poses a significant problem for gym goers. Maintaining a consistent workout routine is crucial for achieving fitness goals, and having a reliable partner can greatly enhance the overall experience. The web application allows users to match, communicate, and meet potential gym partners in their area. There is a wide variety of filters that allow users to tailor their experience to meet individuals within their fitness regimes and stages. Users who are focusing on weight loss and cardio can adjust their filters and meet other users with similar interests. The Agile methodology was utilized for pacing the project in sprints, where the importance of flexibility and collaboration was stressed. Through this approach, productivity is able to be maximized in a timely manner and the necessary features are able to be incrementally delivered at utmost value. The project is composed of a Python and Django framework, which has proven to be modular and very easy to use to meet the project objectives. Swollmates expects to host a platform for gym goers to interact and collaborate together, and we are excited to see it meet its potential.
