Lander University Campus Upgrade

Halle Michael, Tyler Weiss, Allen Laymon, Auron Moore

After conducting an anonymous survey of students, faculty, and staff, our group discovered a lack of awareness surrounding the campus upgrades that Lander University has planned for the upcoming school years. Lander University’s administration emphasizes their appreciation for student and staff input regarding plans for campus activities, upgrades, events, etc. Administration then takes the collected feedback and attempts to satisfy the demands without exceeding their allotted campus upgrade budget. Therefore, after our group collected the feedback from the surveys and realized that many campus members were unaware of the future modifications, we made it our goal to assist the university in their publicity endeavors. We gathered data surrounding personal feedback, overall awareness of the changes, propositions for future changes from Lander campus members and preferences on campus greenspace versus infrastructure additions for the requested additions. Additionally, we researched the average cost for future campus modifications and created a financial plan to outline how these expenses would fit within the campus upgrade budget. As a result of our Geographic Information System (GIS) training, our group created a map layout to demonstrate the present campus layout and outline future ideas for campus improvements. Our goal is to aid Lander University management in educating the students, faculty and staff of the changes and provide useful insight to Lander management surrounding future modifications to Lander’s campus to ensure campus unity. We will do this by showing the existing campus, clearly outlining possible modifications to Lander’s campus, offering a visual aid surrounding student and faculty feedback and providing a comprehensive financial plan showing how these ideas fit within Lander’s campus upgrade budget.
