Analysis of the Eco-Dystopian Genre

Theo Mutter

My research explores the way the genre of dystopian fiction represents our struggle to protect the environment. This project outlines the qualities of the Eco-Dystopian sub-genre and the many types of texts that make it up. This research poster defines eco-dystopian fiction, including the five main types of eco-dystopian fiction and examples of each. It will also analyze each example and explain how it fits into the sub-genre, and will consider reasons behind the growing popularity of this type of writing.
